<image:caption>I've always been fascinated by a bird's ability and knowledge of how to build a sturdy, complex, warm home in which to hatch their offspring. For my nests, I heated "stringer" glass with a blow torch so I could bend it to create the image of sticks and organic material. I also added special paint and crumbled glass (called frit).</image:caption>
